Oh the times we've had.
I always love going to Cincinnati. Greg and Stephanie are so great, and I love the town. Some day I could see myself moving there. Greg kept pointing out that the neighbor's house was for sale. It would be pretty cool If I had a house down there, but I would be leaving a lot of friends here. Someday I may decided to make the trip.
Friday....
So I got out of work a little early, closer to 4:30 than 5:00. When I got home I finished up some stuff around the Apt. I had some dishes and cleaning I wanted to do before Randy got home(he had been gone for a week recovering from surgery). Jannelle came over with the vanilla ice cream that I left in her freezer. Before I left she whipped together some root beer floats that were completely delicious. I haven't had a root beer float in quite some time...
I made the trip down in record time. I think it took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to get to 275, and I stopped for gas. I think that's something like 82Mph average... We went out for some food when I got there, and ended up at a sports bar called, ummm, Willy's I think. Not a bad place. Steph and I split Spinach and Artichoke dip, and I had a few Guiness Draughts.
Saturday was car wash day. I washed my car, Greg's car, Steph's car, and we painted Greg's race wheels. They turned out well, and I may consider painting my wheels now too. Later in the evening we went to the 48 Hour Film Project that made a stop at Northern Kentucky University. It's a really neat concept film project, but I wasn't sure what to expect. There were a a few really neat entries, but a definite majority were pretty bad. After the movies, we went to get food. We ended up at Joe's Crab Shack, and it was the only time I've seen a fist fight in a restaurant. We were sitting with a good view of the the kitchen doors. I watched one guy walk out from the kitchen, and another just jumped out and decked him in the face. There was no yelling or screaming, and the guy that got hit, wasn't fighting back.... The got pulled apart, and moments later it happened again. The same guy, just walking away, and BAM decked in the face again. We decided to skip desert, and left at that point. When we got home, Greg and I enjoy a nice cigar for desert before heading to bed.
Sunday was race day. Greg and I haven't had much opportunity to race together, so it was a nice time. The course was a little scary, and it definitely made me appreciate the strict SCCA safety guidelines. The course seemed completely irresponsible. There were a lot of dangerous hazards. All in all I raced well. I got better every lap, and finished pretty close to my goal.
I had a pretty uneventful drive back(except for the stomachs contentment with a Chioptle's Carnitas Burrito).
Jeff (boss) is off today, so my day is a bit more relaxed.... Time for lunch...
